Wider Plan employees’ ‘Tough Mudder’ challenge raises over £350 for Ben’s First Steps

Francine and Rachel pass through the electroshock therapy obstacle

Our adventurous (and arguably slightly mad!) employees, Francine Kateley-Duff and Rachel Trevena recently braved the Tough Mudder challenge to raise money for Ben’s First Steps.

The challenge consisted of a gruelling 12 mile run, with obstacles designed to test physical strength and mental grit. These included high walls, freezing water and electric shocks! We’re very glad to have them back at work in one piece, if a little bruised!

Generous donations from supporters totalled over £350, which will go towards helping one year old Ben, a sufferer of Cerebral Palsy, receive an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy.

This operation could make a huge difference to Ben and his family’s lives, and we really wanted to help. We’re really grateful for all of the donations we received, and would like to thank everyone who braved the mud and came to support us on the day too!
